About Me

In 2011, I broke my “No New Year’s Resolutions” rule and made one: to become more interesting. And also, less fat and less broke.

So I started scouring blogs and magazines for interesting (and reasonably priced) things to do — random artsy museum exhibits and movie screenings, street fairs, concerts, previously unexplored bars and restaurants, you name it — and started exercising and trying to eat better. I started dragging friends along with me on my quest to never let my life get too “routine,” and my Twitter feed became increasingly dominated by my eagerness to share with the world that I had conquered a new distance or pace on a run (if the idea of that doesn’t totally bore you, you can follow me @ElizabethBevanH).

After feeling like I was doing a pretty good job and needed a creative outlet to entertain myself, I started a blog. Which you already know, because you’re reading this.

I’ve gotten to do a lot of amazing, and interesting things. I’ve played guitar on stage at the Cake Shop, spent a weekend hiking in the Canadian Rockies, tried more new bars and restaurants than I can count, danced at a bunch of great concerts, and gotten totally addicted to running (despite battling back from two nasty bouts of tendonitis) — I ran my first half marathon over Labor Day weekend 2011, and signed up for my second one, the 13.1 New York.

Follow along as I stay dedicated to never falling into a social rut and conquering new running goals and distances — and if you know of something interesting I should be doing, please let me know!
